We extend a deeply heartfelt thank you to the late Houston legal legend and philanthropist Fred Parks who, through the Fred and Mabel R. Parks Foundation, left a generous bequest to the Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation in 2001. Mr. Parks’ gift to the Foundation came about because of his deep admiration of Judge Brown and his desire to honor Judge Brown’s judicial legacy and exemplary writing style through a generous donation to the Foundation, which he held in high esteem.
